& ASSOCIATES
NANCY C. MURPHY is the owner of the law firm of Nancy C. Murphy & Associates, and limits her practice to family law in Cook, Lake and DuPage Counties. Upon graduating from John Marshall Law School in 1989, she worked as a staff attorney for the Family Law Project at the Legal Assistance Foundation of Chicago until 1996.
Chicago family law attorney Nancy C. Murphy is a member of the State’s Attorney Domestic Violence Committee, the Cook County Child Representative’s Roster, the American Bar Association (Family Law and Litigation section), the Illinois State Bar Association (Family Law section), the Chicago Bar Association and the following Chicago Bar Association committees: Alliance of Women (domestic violence subcommittee) and Matrimonial Law.
Nancy was the past President of the Illinois Task Force on Child Support and was hand-chosen by the Presiding Judge of the Domestic Relations Division to help implement the Cook County “Focus on the Children” program. She has trained prestigious Chicago law firms in such matters as custody, child support and domestic violence issues.
Diana E. López-Hofbauer (“LOPEZ-HOFBAUER”) is an associate attorney of the law firm Nancy C. Murphy & Associates, and limits her practice to matrimonial law in Cook, Lake and DuPage Counties. Attorney López-Hofbauer is currently a member of the Chicago Bar Association and Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois.
Attorney López-Hofbauer graduated from Loyola University College of Law in May 2001 with a certificate in child and family law. From May 2004 to present date Attorney López-Hofbauer has been employed by Nancy C. Murphy & Associates and assisted Attorney Murphy in handling complex family law cases involving all aspects of adoption, divorce, child custody and child support, parentage, visitation and domestic violence.
From August of 2001 to May of 2004, Attorney López-Hofbauer was the Assistant States Attorney for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. She handled complex cases in juvenile court as well as difficult child support enforcement cases. While in law school, López-Hofbauer acted as a Supreme Court Rule 711-law student and handled contested cases in family law with the Cook County Public Guardian’s Office and at the Child and Family Law Clinic at Loyola University, Chicago, Illinois.
